Guruji has always maintained that BPHS predates all the later works by thousands of years, and is therefore far more authentic and reliable than any of the comparatively modern authors, and therefore must be followed in our parampara. Having said that, he has sometimes mentioned Jataka Parijaata and Saravali, as supplementary reads, as also some books authored by Dr B V Raman. However, one must diligently follow BPHS only .

I took another course this week and was introduced to a great classical book, Uttarakalamrita by Kalidasa which has a ton of info. It also has detailed info on KaraKatvas of Bhavas and Planets in Different Bhavas and their effects as well as the effects of Dasas. It is very detailed and easy to understand.
On that note, is there a list of books that we should be reading for PJC as well besides BPHS?
